Be sure to make sure that you conduct a name search on social media, on the business registration website Companies and Intellectual Property Authority (CIPA) and on google. That way if you decide to create a domain name after the business name is registered you won’t encounter any problems. The next step is to reserve this name with the Companies and Intellectual Property Authority (CIPA) in Botswana. This ensures that no other entity can operate under the same name and gives you exclusive rights to it.

Prepare Registration Documents

Gather the necessary documents required for business registration, which typically include:

  • Be ready to complete the online form to reserve a business name.

How long does a business name last?

A business name lasts to up to 3 years. Thereafter it will expire and you will need to log back into the CIPA website, pay a renewal fee and renew your business name.
